Since 1996 Pierre is playing “modern” Zildjian Cymbals MADE IN THE USA , but he has still a couple of very old K. Zildjians in stock: MADE IN ISTANBUL.
Most of his albums between 1965 and 1996 are recorded with these.
See ABOUT PC: 3 Discography.
Pierre has all together 12 examples in his ‘museum’:
Three 16” and three 18” crashes, four 20” and two 22” ride cymbals, partly with some sizzles.
The ride cymbals are medium except one 20” – which is very thick – you have probably never seen an example this heavy.
They all are in a good shape with exception of an 18” crash: one small hole is worn and a sizzle dislodged.
And very old of age – between 55 and 110 years – but the sound of these antiques is still beautiful.
In almost every cymbal Pierre’s name can be found engraved by his brother Harry (a goldsmith and jeweler, who died in 1977) for insurance reasons.
Experts have the value of these 12 cymbals estimated at least 10,000 €.
We are going to make a couple of pictures of these cymbals and publish them as soon as possible on this page.
